Live animal shows coming to Hopkins Park Aug. 13

DeKALB – Come see a variety of live animals during four Animal Express Animal Shows at the band shelter in Hopkins Park. The shows, hosted by the DeKalb Public Library and the DeKalb Park District, will be Thursday, Aug.13.

Seating at the four half-hour shows will follow social-distancing protocols.

The shows at 10 a.m. and noon will feature a raccoon, a skunk, an arctic fox, a tortoise, a mountain coati, a tarantula and a rabbit. The shows at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. will feature a raccoon, a skunk, an arctic fox, a corn snake, a woodchuck, a Senegal parrot and a baby pig.

Space is limited to 100 per show to allow for socially distanced seating. Register each family member at dkpl.org. Make sure you register for the time slot you want. Masks are required.

Those who register before Aug. 12, will automatically be entered into a raffle for a five-minute visit with an animal after the program ends. There will be two winners for each show.

In case of inclement weather, the animal shows will be online via Zoom at the same times. Registrants will be notified by 9 a.m. the day of the program.
